Komeko is a finely ground rice powder, serving as a top-quality ingredient for nori-urushi, a traditional glue used to mend broken ceramic pieces in Kintsugi repairs.
To use, simply add water to the komeko and adjust the water amount and stickiness according to your needs. After thorough mixing, place the mixture in a pan and heat it at a low temperature, stirring frequently to avoid burning. This combination of rice and water will transform into a natural, doughy glue. On a palette, blend this glue with raw urushi at a 6:4 ratio, creating nori-urushi, a robust traditional adhesive. Many practitioners prefer this method due to its less stodgy consistency compared to mugi-urushi (wheat powder & urushi).
Rest assured, all the materials used in this product are natural and sourced from Japan. We collaborate closely with Kintsugi artisans and Japanese wholesalers, ensuring the highest level of quality.
